Carbon Yourself
After much testing, MacLean Quality Composites (MQC) has developed a process that allows the manufacture of ultra high quality carbon-fiber panels. See, carbon fiber is this new technology. It's this material that's really lightweight and can reduce your total curb wieght by like, a lot. RacePlates are now available in several sizes and two different thicknesses, Rigid and Flex, designed with the tuner car market in mind. The Rigid plates are .055-in thick and can be cut to shape with a Dremel tool, making them perfect for custom applications. The Flex plates are made from a single ply of carbon fabric that can be cut with scissors, curved and attached to any surface using double-sided tape. Examples include custom gauge panels, interior trim, inner door panels, under hood trim and exterior wings. These plates are a great benefit for those individuals who own a vehicle that does not have a large after-market supplier base, or for that individual who wants a unique vehicle that stands out in a crowd. Up until now, the majority of the carbon fiber products in the tuner market have been of low quality. RacePlates feature a deep-looking, glossy twill surface on both sides. The inner plies are designed with unidirectional carbon, making these plates strong, as well as beautiful. Dude, I think this carbon fiber stuff is going to be the next hot stuff out there.
