I dont know to much about cars (im really new to the whole tuning scene). I want to cut out the straight section of pipe and put a universal slip fit converter in there. I measured my pipe to be about 2 3/8" so I guess it is 85 mm if that sounds like a common size. The largest converter I found is 3" I.D. Is there an exhaust adapter to go from a 3 3/8" OD to 3" ID Pipe? I can't find anything. The other idea of have is to get a 3 1/4" OD section of tubing and slip it over the 3" Cat which I'm assumming has a 3 1/8" OD. This would make my cat now have a 3 1/4" OD and It would fit inside my 3 3/8" exhaust pipe on the car. Then I will clamp it all together. What do you think? I still have to figure out how the air tube works on these cars. Mine has probably been disabled. The body and interior is in immaculate condition, and it runs and drives like a brand new car. However, it does have 253,000 miles on it. I'm thinking of tearing the car apart, and rebuilding it; but I want to pep it up a little, and make it into a rally car. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should begin? Most of my experience is with older, muscle cars (my first car was a 75 Camaro) and that was 20 years ago. Lol....

Not really driving an import, it's an 01 GMC Sonoma but knew you guys would probably know this answer. So I know that a narrow band AFR gauge is pointless and I would want a wideband and also a wideband O2 sensor. I also know that it should be hooked up to the O2 sensor before the CAT. well my question is with a v6 and in an OBD II system, so I have two O2s before the CAT) would I hook up the gauge to just one sensor? or both? or would it be wise to run a separate gauge to each sensor? I probably wouldn't keep the gauge in the car. Just while tuning it.

I do what I can only describe as a fast twitch shift, I slap the clutch hard enough to disengage it, but, I usually only get maybe 2" to 3" travel, and about half of that is without my foot in direct contact with the clutch, and I shift the gear (usually up, I can do it down, but usually when down shifting I'm also braking too so not too much use) I haven't gotten, or figure out a way to time this maneuver, but it's fast enough that on full acceleration (pedal down to the floor) I can shift WITHOUT letting off, and only see about 500-1000 rpm jumps, usually I let off slightly to try and not wear my clutch out too fast when I do this. It's also fast enough for me to up shift mid turn (which is helpful for me, considering I drive an unmodified '08 Hyundai Accent) this brings me to my next question. I've done a little bit of toying around with some of the wanna be import mod drivers around here. Off the line I don't stand a chance, and most of these people either don't have the guts or the know how to take a corner hard. Yes I've got front wheel drive, but in all consideration why is it that a 110hp 106f/p torque car (driver is also considered) out cornering, out handling people in tuned civics/accords/etc. I've come across only ONE person in my area that passed me on a good turn (I'm talking F1 style turns, not these highway curves) Or is it that most people only go for straight line and forget about the cornering aspect when modding their car. Thank you.
