Pros
350Z owners are in for special treat as Buddy Club has released their newest exhaust system entitled the spec III Pro. Using a stainless-steel design, the spec III offers lightness and an improvement in durability which can be seen from the use of "band-stay" hooks as hangers for the main silencer. The absence of welds in this area helps maintain durability of the system and resists the common weld cracks often found on competitors brands.
Cons
Installing the BC exhaust requires either removing the factory exhaust heatshield or trimming a section to accommodate the dual canisters. Another factor that needed to be addressed was the removal of the fuel evaporative canister shield located on the rear passenger side just above the newly placed exhaust. Although Buddy Club representatives state there has been no problems related to removing this shielding, we recommend placing some heat wrap or tape on the hoses and canister itself as a precautionary measure.
Notes
Comparing baseline numbers with our newly installed exhaust showed a significant gain throughout the rpm range as the horsepower numbers shined from 4000 to 5300 rpm with 9 hp and 10 lb-ft of torque on tap. The largest increase was recorded at 6200 rpm to redline with a jump of 15 hp and 12 lb-ft of torque with only the rev limiter ending our run.
