Pros

This is the pimp-daddy of boost controllers. One of the things that really sets Blitz SBC boost controllers apart from the competition (other than the awesome color display), is the sequential solenoid. The solenoid has two valves, one for major adjustments and another for finer adjustments. This valve is far better than the tiny, single valve actuators found on many lesser boost controllers, allowing faster reaction times and more stable boost control. Additionally, the boost controller offers a myriad of options and features, like auto or manual boost setup, four different selectable boost settings, horsepower and torque logging, the ability to monitor things like engine speed, vehicle speed, boost, as well as things like oil and water temps/pressure with optional harness and sensors available from Blitz. Our favorite feature is the one that lets us set boost level depending on vehicle speed. This lets us run less boost in 1st and 2nd gears, where wheelspin is the most likely and lets us run more boost in the higher gears when the car has more traction.
Cons
Installing this boost controller in the typical car should take an hour to an hour and a half. The MR2 isn't your typical car though, and it took us three hours. Why so long? We had to remove all the plastic trim, carpets, sound insulation, parts of the dash, the glovebox, radio, etc in order to run the wires for the display from the engine compartment in the rear to the dash in the front. Sure, we could have just run the wires across the floor and cut the install time in half, but we chose to run the wires under the center armrest. Mounting and hooking up the solenoid in the engine bay was much easier and took less than 20 minutes.

Notes
Setting up the boost controller is simply a matter of selecting the wastegate type and entering a target boost. The SBC will automatically raise the boost to the inputted value. We set it to 14.5psi and after a few pulls, we were boosting a steady 14.5psi. Easy as pie. As seen in the graphs, we gained around 20hp and 20 lb-ft of torque. The power numbers only tell part of the story; the improved spool-up is even more evident on the street.
